NEWS ROUND UP!!!

As we enter our second season break it gives a chance to look at the competition and standings and what we expect to see over the remaining races!

With Ferrari's David Fidock his usual consistent self he heads the standings with 235 points and a 54 point deficit to Florian Geier in 2nd heading the Williams team, Flo has shown he is capable of winning races and has put the car on pole at some points this season and has started to get closer to Dave's pace over the last few races, its looking certain these two are the main title contenders unless they start having issues!

Battling for 3rd place its looking like Lotus Renault's Andrew Morgan and Mclarens Daniel Lovett will continue to battle it out over the course of the season like they have in several races already, Morgan missed several races at the start but has had the edge over Dan Lovett in the last few races, Dan showed some solid pace start of the season but several problems in the last few races have cost him including two last lap incident with running out of fuel and parking it in the barrier has given Andrew Morgan the advantage putting him ahead on 101 points to Dans 97 but has Andrew Morgan overcome his tyre wear issues which hampered him in earlier races?

Mercedes Corry Sweet has been showing good pace at times but has been in too many incidents including several engine failures and a couple of costly spins but will be getting in the mix of things in the remaining races after taking two 4th places in the previous 2 races, battling Dan Lovett at Spa in the final few laps, including a slick comeback move after Eau Rouge! Finally settled in one team William's Arjan Zijlstra has been his own worst enemy this season again showing great pace but lively actions on the track have cost him dear and several blown engines at the start adds to several DNFs but should be fighting top 6 easily and will need to support Flo in the constructors as they battle with Mclaren for 2nd. The steady and consistent Nicholas Demetris for Ferrari continues to rack up the points and support his teammate in the constructors championship and has looked to have upped his game over the last few races even more finishing in the top 6 in the last 4 races. Lotus Renault's Martin OConnor has at times has top 3 pace but his 1st lap issues have continued costing him several finishes, surpisingly his 4th place at Hockenheim being his highest place finish he will for sure be pushing for top 5 in the remaining races. All these drivers are showing nothing between them in quali as shown in Spa so expect Lovett, Morgan, OConnor, Demetris Sweet and Zijstra to be battle it out over the remaining races.

One driver that has shown continued development of a driver is Mclaren team boss Lee Miller firmly making himself a solid midfield driver and at times has shown pace to mix it with the top guys, and with a top 10 finish in every race bar china (11th) has given him 8th place in the standings with 49 points and a 9 point gap over RedBulls Alistair Brown who like many have shown pace including a great run at Budapest but silly mistakes like hitting the pit entry have cost him several places and points and with several DNS's to his name will be looking to improve!.Team boss at mercedes Andrew Cunningham looks to improve on what was an unlucky start to the season with several blown engines, Andy has the pace to fight the top guys on his day and will be looking to catch his arch rival Wink Lee Miller in the standings before the season ends. League organiser Matt Leonowicz sits down in 14th in the standings but shows decent pace at times but the midfield battles have cost him several DNF's and a 5th place in Valencia being his best showing aswell some solid top ten finishes in the 2nd RedBull car.

The usual midfield madness this season has seen some great battles as everyone looks to improve themselves, with the tail end of the grid steadily improving including Filippos Nomikos who on keyboard is slowly settling in and new boy 'Crazy Ca-nuck Gary Madew has shown the pace last 2 races for a top 5 finish but a heated moment with Lotus Renaults Martin OConnor seen him DNF but should be up there the remainder of the season. We also see the return of Danny Ribbans in the Virgin who at the start of the season was picking up decent momentum and consistency but a visit to the stewards in spa after a DNF wasnt the return hed hoped for and will be sure to pick up his game! teammate Loz Ribbans picks up his first points this season with a solid drive for 9th barely a lap down but with several accidents and spins costing him much of the season, also missed a few races as the start to due technical issues. We very much look forward to the remaining races.

More write ups and builds to come over the rest of the season!
